Mission & Vision
Moving Mountains (MM), Inc. is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit. We are a US-based feminist organization created to support, develop, and build power with women, girls, Queer, Trans, gender nonconforming (QT/GNC), and gender expansive folx, both nationally and globally. Our mission is to provide leaders and organizations with space, resources, and support to reflect, create, organize, and achieve gender justice. We are a movement hub that mobilizes feminist organizations, groups, and individuals by aligning our shared values, analysis, and power toward collective healing and liberation. MM works to challenge the root causes of violence, poverty, and discrimination and to end cisheteropatriarchy, racism, and all forms of oppression. We envision a world where every girl and woman, and Queer person is safe, respected, and free to reach their full potential.

Our Story
Moving Mountain, Inc., established in 2022, was created by Kabzuag Vaj, a 20-year social justice movement leader, as a space for longtime movement leaders to continue their work/love projects. Unlike other professions, movement leaders prioritize community/movement above their health, healing, family, and dreams. They often have limited opportunities to continue contributing to the movement once they retire or transition from nonprofit leadership positions. MM is created as a movement organization to provide space, resources, and support for leaders and organizations to reflect, develop, and organize to achieve gender justice. MM will provide fiscal sponsor services for grassroots projects/individual movement leaders, leadership coaching and training, and non-profit management consulting.
Mountains form over hundreds of thousands of years. They are often seen as enduring, unyielding, and unmovable, much like patriarchy and other systems of oppression. However, we believe that we can move mountains and transform the landscape with collective power and global mobilization–one social justice “love” project at a time. With vigor and collective movement mountains can be moved.
Leadership Team
Moving Mountains’ leadership is composed of Black and Southeast Asian activists who have spent 20 years in the gender justice movement, working to end gender-based violence in our communities.
