We must challenge and address the root causes of oppression to create social change and gender equity. We must deepen our understanding and intersectionality of oppression.
True social change comes with changing people’s hearts and minds. This is a long-term commitment to community engagement and the political education of our people.
We must end the behaviors and practices that harm and no longer serve us and invent healthier cultural norms and practices that are centered on feminist values.
It’s not enough to change hearts, minds, behaviors, and practices. We must also change the systems and institutions that reinforce systems of oppression. This means shifting power and resources into marginalized and disenfranchised communities.
Mass mobilization is the practice of inspiring people to take action. Alone, individuals struggle to make a significant impact. However, we can create lasting and widespread change by organizing and collectively shifting around shared values and beliefs. We become a movement.
